
The 2023 ambassadors will be officially announced in a brief presentation at 6 p.m. on July 10 at Creekside Park. Ambassadors represent the Rushford Peterson Valley at area parades and local events. A scholarship is awarded to the teen ambassadors upon completion of their first year of post secondary education.
Below is information about the 2022 ambassadors:
Annika Bakkum-Ekern is a senior at Rushford-Peterson High School. Her parents are Steven and Kristin Burdey. After high school she plans on working for Prairie Fire Children’s Theater, a kid-centered traveling theater company that aims to get all types of kids involved in the arts. She will also be working at an overnight summer camp so she is able to make a positive impact on as many kids as possible. Activities and organizations she is involved with include Rushford Area Society for the Arts, choreographer for “Matilda” the musical, competitive One Act Play, Speech, Drama Club president, Rushford Lutheran Church Praise Team, Sunday School teacher, and anchor for the Rushford Peterson Valley Voice. Annika would like to be the Rushford Peterson Valley Ambassador because she wants to serve her community in any way she can as well as being a positive role model to younger community members. Ella Woxland is a senior at R-P High School. Her parents are Amy & Corey Woxland. Her plans after high school include attending Winona State University to major in Nursing. Activities that Ella is involved in include the Cheer Team, Winter Dance Team, Softball, Student Council and the Student Ambassador Program. Ella is looking forward to the opportunity to be the Rushford Peterson Valley Ambassador to get to know her community better as well as meeting new people and growing as a person.
The 2022 Junior Ambassador is Kendall O’Donnell, daughter of Jeffrey and Chelsea O’Donnell. She resides in the Rushford-Peterson school district and is in 4th grade at homeschool. Kendall’s hobbies include gymnastics, horses, reading and volleyball.
